Body psychotherapy
By Sabryna
Biodynamic psychology (from Bio: life and Dynamic: movement, impulse) is part of the family of psychophysical therapies, which combine in their practices The psyche (the mind) and the soma (the body).
It is Gerda Boyesen (1922 – 2005), a Norwegian psychologist and physiotherapist, who developed this method, the result of long clinical work from the 1950s onwards. She was particularly inspired by the work of Wilhelm Reish and of Carl Gustav Jung.

Biodynamic psychology offers a holistic psychotherapeutic approach that engages the body, emotions, and psyche, gradually enabling us to liberate our life force.
In addition to conventional support, our unique approach offers much more, going the extra mile by working on the energetic and bodily aspects. During the session, we begin with a period of discussion. Together, we determine the couple's needs based on each individual's journey, the state of the relationship, and desires for fulfilment and growth.
The main tools used:
Biodynamic massage
- Aims to release muscular and emotional tension.
- Promotes reconnection with the body and regulation of the nervous system.
- Allows vital energy to circulate and restores the pleasure of inhabiting one's body.
Emotional release (vegetotherapy)
- Allows the expression of contained emotions (anger, sadness…).
- Unlock bodily memories.
Verbal interview focused on feelings
- Allows one to put words to bodily and emotional experiences.
- Encourages authentic expression and awareness of deep-seated patterns.
Psychoperistalsis
- Listening to the stomach with a stethoscope to hear bowel sounds as an indicator of emotional digestion.
- Allows the effect of a touch or word on the nervous system to be measured.
Positive regression techniques
- Healing childhood wounds (lack, abandonment, intrusion...).
- Establishing a secure framework to restore trust, self-esteem, and attachment capacity.
Emotional expression
- Welcoming buried emotions (anger, sadness, fear, joy) through movement, voice, and breath.
- Allows for the release of old emotional burdens and the restoration of vital energy.
Strengthening the Body Ego
- Support rooting, verticality, boundaries.
- To help feel inhabited, embodied and more solid internally.
Biodynamic psychology is a body-centred psychotherapy that helps to release emotional tensions held within the body.
It helps to find a balance between the mind and feelings, to heal deep wounds, to calm the nervous system, and to revive the life force. By reconnecting to one's body and sensitivity, it opens a path towards greater inner peace, joy, and self-alignment.
