Ecstasy as an act of freedom

When the body becomes the path

There are paths that are not intellectual (despite my scientific background!).
Paths that go through the body, the breath, energy, sensation.

From my 1stera psycho-corporal therapy, at 19 years old, I felt the importance of going through the body. My training as a therapist then laid the foundations of this experiential approach.

Thus biodynamic psychology created by Gerda Boyesen, which relies in particular on bio-energy of Wilhelm Reichh, taught me one essential thing: the body keeps the score of everything the soul could not say.
Repressed emotions become tension.
Stifled impulses become armours.
And vital energy, when it no longer flows, freezes.

Neo-tantra came along my path at the same time. Like a living response to that very intuition: Life, desire and ecstasy are not accidents, but sacred forces.
When energy flows freely through the body, she doesn't just seek pleasure, she seeks truth, presence, unity.

In both approaches, there is this same invisible thread: remove the protective layers which allowed us to survive, but which end up cutting us off from the living world.
Breathe where it was frozen.
Feeling where it was numbed.
Letting the energy flow through where it was held.

My life path is part of this quest.
A quest for meaning.
A journey through psychological trauma.
A deep desire for healing – not to become «perfect», but to become more authentic.

For a long time, I sought ecstasy outside of myself, mostly through travel: I wanted to go far, very far. At 20, I wanted to cross the Atlantic by boat, to sail around the world. So, I travelled a lot. Then, after a breakdown at 34, I realised over time that this state of ecstasy is born when the body, heart and consciousness cease to be separated.
When we no longer run away from intensity.
When you dare to fully inhabit your energy.

Changing the world...
I dreamed it big. As a child I wanted to be number oneera As a French female astronaut, I also wanted to understand how the universe worked. I hesitated to study astrophysics, but turned instead to engineering training, which seemed to me a more concrete approach. I am glad I did, as it provided a solid foundation for the ethereal young adult I was.

I understand: Changing the world starts with changing my own inner world.
Take off my breastplates.
Relearning to smell.
To reconcile the body and the mind.

The most profound revolution is silent.
It takes place in the nervous system.
In the relaxing basin.
In the breath that descends.
In the energy flowing once again.

And perhaps deep down, healing, loving, feeling, opening oneself to ecstasy, is not a spiritual luxury.
It is a political act.
An act of life.
An act of freedom.
